How to Turn Google Business Profile Views into Calls

By Thomas McLoughlin ·

Impressions are not outcomes. The goal is converting local visibility into booked work, enquiries, and qualified calls.

1) Nail category and service relevance

Your primary category is one of the strongest local relevance levers. Pair it with service-specific landing pages and matching profile language so Google sees clear topical alignment.

2) Build conversion paths, not just listings

Every local page should have one clear CTA, trust signals, and fast contact routes. If users have to hunt for phone/email, high visibility won’t convert.

3) Use review prompts strategically

Ask for reviews around specific service contexts (without scripting fake language). Useful, detailed reviews help both conversion and local relevance signals.

4) Keep NAP and hours synchronized

Inconsistency across site, GBP and citations creates trust friction. Standardise formatting and monitor regularly, especially when opening hours or service areas change.

5) Track outcomes, not vanity metrics

Measure calls, form leads, and sales-qualified enquiries by location. Use profile views and map rankings as diagnostic indicators, not success metrics on their own.
